Janet Lindquist


Janet Deanne (Stark) Lindquist, 86, of Lakefield, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at The Good Samaritan Society in Jackson, Minnesota.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield with Reverend Phil Beukema officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Lakefield.  

Janet Deanne (Stark) Lindquist was born to Roy Halfrid Oliver and Dagmar Jeanette (Hansen) Stark on September 23, 1933 in Mt. Lake, Minnesota. Janet was baptized and confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Darfur, Minnesota. As a child she attended Darfur public school and graduated from Comfrey High School in 1951. After high school Janet attended college at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and at Mankato State University. She worked at a bookstore for many years in Minneapolis. Janet also served as a librarian at the St. James, Mankato, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota public libraries. In 1963 Janet was united in marriage to Howard Lindquist at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield, Minnesota.  They were blessed with one son, John Howard.  In December 2019 Janet became a resident at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson, where she passed away on Thursday, December 26 at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 3 days.

Janet was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield. She had a life-long love of books, enjoyed playing the piano and gardening.

Janet is survived by her son John Howard of Lakefield.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband Howard and her parents.
