Lynn Wenk

Lynn Marie Wenk, 49, of Lakefield passed away at her residence on Sunday, December 22, 2019 with her family and friends by her side. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield, with Pastor Andrew Schensted officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.  

Lynn Marie Wenk, daughter of William and Kris (Pauli) Wenk, was born on Thursday, January 1, 1970 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lynn attended and graduated in 1989 from Gunao high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After high school, she worked a variety of jobs before meeting her life partner Kenny Collins. They were blessed with one son Tryon. In 2007, Lynn moved to Lakefield, Minnesota where she made this her residence with her son Tyron. Lynn attended Minnesota West in Worthington where she obtained her CNA and TMA certificates.  She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Lynn was a waitress, bartender, and cook at The Shed Chill n’ Grille for the past 6 years. Through all of her recent health issues Lynn always remained positive, up until her very last breath. Lynn passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at her residence.

Lynn was always full of life, and ready to go on the next adventure. She was not one to sit still for very long. Lynn enjoyed camping, bowling, golfing and dancing. She had a green thumb and enjoyed spending time out in her garden. Lynn loved to travel, from cruises to just a short 2 day get away to enjoy nature. Lynn was a die-hard Green Bay Packer’s fan. Although she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, Lynn always made sure that her son Tyron was high priority on the list. Lynn has had a special place in many people’s hearts, and she will always be remembered for her smile, her personality and her beautiful soul. Words that we all can live by from one of Lynn’s favorite songs is “Stay Humble and Kind.”

Lynn is survived by her son Tyron Collins of Lakefield, her mother Kris Wenk of Milwaukee, her brother Brian Wenk of Milwaukee, her sister Brenda Kroening of Lakefield, along with many great friends.

Lynn is preceded in death by her grandmother Rose Pauli, her life partner Kenny Collins, and her father William Wenk.

    There simply no words that can ease your pain right now as it’s so so hard to lose any family member but especially when a child loses their Mom/ or Dad or vice versa— all I know is that our whole towns praying for you Tyron as well as Lynn’s sisters and family!, Lynn was always smiling irregardless what she faced but she stayed so strong and had an unshakeable Faith during her journey!, She will truly be missed and please know that our prayers for you all are ongoing! Just remember God is holding and comforting you as well as giving you all the strength you need during these very difficult days
