Lorraine Lucille Rue

Lorraine Rue, 95, of Lakefield, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson, Minnesota.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakefield with Pastor Andrew Schenstead officiating. A visitation will take one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Lorraine Lucille Rue was born on October 27, 1923 on the family farm in Okabena, Minnesota, the daughter of Walter and Bessie (Nolan) Koch.  She was baptized on December 16, 1923 at St Paul’s Church in Rost, Minnesota, and was confirmed on June 12, 1938 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Okabena, Minnesota.  As a child Lorraine attended District 73 Country School and then went to  Okabena High School.  On June 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Raymond Rue. They were blessed with 2 daughters.  After marriage Lorraine worked for Dr. Erdmann as a Dental Assistant as well as for M. N. Johnson, Anderson Hardware, the Dairy Bar, and for Norm Kraving before retiring from Community First Bank. Lorraine passed away at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson, Minnesota on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the age of 95 years, 11 months, and 26 days.

Lorraine enjoyed fishing as well as knitting and crocheting, and she loved spending time with her family.  She was an avid bowler and attended many state and national tournaments with her team. Lorraine was also a very good golfer. Her and Ray played in many tournaments around the area.

Lorraine is survived by daughters Pat (Harlen “Slim”) Olson-Harris of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Kathy (Gary) Kalfs of Lakefield, Minnesota; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great children.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her parents, granddaughter Tammy, sister Joyce, and other relatives.
