Eveline Emma Jasper

Eveline Emma Jasper, 99, of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the Pines Assisted Living in Jackson, Minnesota.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, in Jackson, Minnesota with Father Jonathan Fasnacht officiating.  Burial will take place following the service at the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Jackson.

A visitation will take place on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, with a rosary service at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Saturday one hour prior to the memorial service.    

Per Eveline “I enjoyed flowers when I could see them, so please no flowers.” Memorials are preferred.

Eveline Emma (Whisney) Jasper, daughter of Joseph H. and Frances (Matejka) Whisney was born on April 10, 1920 in Des Moines Township, Jackson County, Minnesota. Eveline attended school in District 11, Des Moines Township until her 2nd grade year, when the family moved to Enterprise Township where she graduated from the 8th grade in District 107. In 1938 Eveline graduated from Jackson High School.  On September 4, 1952 Eveline married the love of her life James P. Jasper of Iona, Minnesota at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Jackson. They were blessed with 6 children. Eveline worked for M & J.R. Hakes for 28 years where she met her future husband. With her husband James they purchased the Hakes Building and operated the Jackson Supply from 1972 until August 1, 1989.  Eveline enjoyed helping James with the caramel corn duties when the VFW operated the local races, along with helping him put up and take down the American flags downtown. James, her loving husband, passed away on December 17, 2004.  Eveline passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Pines assisted living in Jackson, on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the age of 99 years, 2 months and 27 days.

Eveline enjoyed being a homemaker, taking care of her family. She enjoyed being outdoors, from gardening to golfing, going for walks, and was an avid blackbird and squirrel hunter. Eveline also enjoyed quilting. The recipients of her quilting projects are blessed to have one of Eveline’s pieces.
Eveline loved to gamble and having coffee with her many friends.  Eveline was very active within the Catholic church. She would help with kitchen church duties whenever there was a need, co-chairing the Bohemian dinner for many years.  Eveline’s caring nature will be dearly missed by her family and dear friends.

Eveline is survived by her five children:  Tim (Ann) Jasper of Seattle, Washington, Leila (Dary) Hendricks of Jackson, Minnesota,  Jeff (Carole Hollers) Jasper of Sturgis,  South Dakota, Curtis (Debbie) Jasper of Oak Grove, Minnesota, Mitch Jasper ( Janet Virchow)of Jackson, Minnesota; daughter-in-law Kim Jasper of Moses Lake, Washington; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;  brother Joe Whisney of Jackson; sister Joyce Beseke of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.

Eveline is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Francis, her husband of 52 years James, son Jan, sisters: Violet Johnson, Pauline Johnson, Francis Pavelko, Marcella Richmond, an infant brother, sister and brother in laws, and nieces and nephews.
