JULIE M. NYBORG, 89, of Jackson passed away at the Jackson Good Samaritan Center on Friday, November 5, 2010. Graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Lost Island Cemetery in Ruthven, Iowa at 1:30 PM with Pastor Lance Isaacson officiating.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 5-7 PM at the Osterberg Funeral Home.
JULIE MARIE NYBORG was born on January 29, 1921, in Julesburg, Colorado, the daughter of Lawrence and Laura Breining. She graduated from high school in Chicago, Illinois, and then attended one year of business school. On October 3, 1942, she was united in marriage to Calvin Nyborg in Chicago, Illinois. After marriage, they moved to Alpha and later to Belmont Township in 1951. In 1975, they moved into Jackson until 1978, when they moved to Rogers, Arkansas after Kelly retired. They bought a home on Beaver Lake. In 2000, they moved to Windom, Minnesota, After Calvin passed away on December 15, 2004, Julie remained in Windom until 2006, when she moved to Pines in Jackson and later became a resident of the Jackson Good Samaritan Center on May 28, 2008. She passed away there on Friday, November 05, 2010 at the age of 89 years, 9 months and seven days.
Julie was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson. She had also been a member of Bethany Lutheran Church near Bergen and a Lutheran Church in Rogers, Arkansas. She had loved fishing at Fish Lake and playing cards, especially 500 and Whist. She enjoyed playing domino’s with her grandchildren. She was also a fabulous cook. She loved to travel, which included trips to Sardinia, Italy and Denmark, not to mention trips to Idaho and Colorado.
Julie is survived by her three sons; Larry Nyborg and his wife, Linda of Parksley, Virginia, Dick Nyborg and his wife, Kathy, of Jackson and Charlie Nyborg and his wife Glenda, of Rogers, Arkansas, a daughter; Ellen of Charlevoix, Michigan, 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Marian Smith of Chicago, Illinois.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, a husband; a son, Bob Nyborg; a grandson, Chad Nyborg and an infant brother.
