Richard Bauer

Bauer, Richard CornRICHARD BAUER, 78, of Lakefield, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield.  Funeral Services will be held on Monday September 27, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield beginning at 10:30a.m. with Pastor Jonathan Nack officiating.  Burial will take place immediately following the service at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lakefield.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 3-5 pm at the Osterberg-Hansen Funeral Home in Lakefield, and on Monday one hour prior to the services at the church.

Richard Ardell Bauer was born on February 19, 1932, in Ida Grove, Iowa to Ferdinand and Clara (Clausen) Bauer.  He attended grade school in Ida Grove and Halstein, Iowa.  He graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1950.

On May 4, 1952, Richard married Marilyn Reimers in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux Valley.  Richard loved farming, raising cattle, and he could fix anything.  He enjoyed bowling, fishing, dancing, and playing cards.

Richard served on the board directors at the Lakefield Farmers Elevator and was a member of the Lakefield Commercial Club.

Richard was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in lakefield, where he served on the evangelism board and finance board.

Richard passed away on September 24, 2010 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 5 days.

Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Bauer of Lakefield, one son, David (LeeAnn) Bauer of Lakefield, one daughter, Linda and fiancé Stan Cory, of Hudson, Wisconsin, 5 grandchildren, Alison (Jeff) Simison of Northfield, Alanna (Mike) McNamara of New Richmond, Wisconsin, Chris Bauer of Lakefield and fiancé, Jocelyn Jones of Round Lake, Kelsey Bauer of Moundsview, and Alyssa Jerlow of New Richmond, Wisconsin, and 3 great-grandchildren, Carter Simison, Lila McNamara, and Evan McNamara, and 2 brothers, Melvin Bauer of Holstein, Iowa and Harold (Marlyce) Bauer of Windom.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ferd and Clara Bauer, 3 sisters, Vernette Kolb, Lorraine Semerad, and Mildred Stickrod, and one brother, Wilbert Bauer.

    Im sorry to hear of Richards passing. I remember many converstions we had from Sioux Valley School and while I lived in Lakefield. May the Lord give you strength durring this time.

It assures us at John 5:28,29 that our loved ones will be remembered and brought back to life in the resurrection. Please allow God’s Word to strengthen you and help you to endure this most difficult time.
