Maria Quintero, 65, of Lakefield passed away on Tuesday August 31, 2010 at the Sanford Jackson Medical Center in Jackson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lakefield on Friday, September 3, 2010 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Father Larry Brixius officiating.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 5-7p.m. at the Osterberg-Hansen Funeral Home in Lakefield, with a rosary at 6:30, and on Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
Maria Quintero was born on May 15, 1945. As a child she attended school in Mission, Texas. After school she was married and worked in the home. In 1990 she moved to Lakefield, Minnesota.
Maria passed away at the Sanford Medical Center in Jackson on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the age of sixty-five years, three months, and sixteen days.
Maria was a devout catholic who enjoyed her family. She loved watching her little grandkids play. Maria was a great mother, and grandmother who was always there to listen when one of the kids had a problem.
Maria is survived by her two daughters, Maria (Doug) Daberkow of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Alma (Travis) Thies of Lakefield, Minnesota; one son, Martin Lugo of Worthington, Minnesota. Three brothers, Pablo (Adriana) Garza of Reynosa, Mexico, Jesus Garza of Mission, Texas, and Moses Garza of Reynosa, Mexico; as well as two sisters, Guadalupe (Ralph) Villarreal of Mission, Texas and San Juana (Jorge) Garza of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Also eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, , as well as several nieces and nephews.
Maria was preceded in death by her brother Juan Hernandez and a sister Elida Lugo.
