James Leslie Burdick, the son of Wayne and Della (Lyons) Burdick, was born on December 21, 1970 in Windom, Minnesota. As a child James attended school at Swan Lake DAC at Delft, later graduating from Windom High School in 1992. James worked for the DAC at Woven and Wood in Windom until his health forced him to retire in 2006. James passed away at the Home for Creative Living on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the age of thirty-nine years, four months, and four days.
James was baptized at the First Lutheran Church in Dundee. He loved bright colors, people, and being outside looking at the trees. He was an avid watcher of television, and you would be hard pressed to take him away from the TV during Vikings games. One of his favorite things was playing “I’m gonna get you…” with family members, as they would try to tickle his hair. This would always get the big belly laughs out of him.
James is survived by his two sisters, Pam (Matt) Junker of Garretson, South Dakota; Mary Beth (Gary) Sebby of Heron Lake, Minnesota; and his brother Steve (Lori) Burdick of Heron Lake, Minnesota. Other survivors include his half-brother Ron (Vicky) Burdick of Ontonagon, Michigan and their children Heath, Paul, and Clint. As well as his niece, Melissa (Casey) Miller and their children Hanna and Oscar; his niece Connie (Shawn) Kitrel, and his nephew Jeremy (Jessica) and their daughter Jasmine; his niece Bethany Sebby, and her fiancé Misael Vazquez, and their daughter Sofya Vazquez; niece Nicole Sebby; and nephews Bradlee and Jacob Burdick. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his special friend and caretaker Diane Johnson.
James was preceded in death by his parents, and an older brother Bradley.
Blessed be the memory of James Leslie Burdick.
