Genevieve W. Lutz

GENVIEVE W. LUTZ, 81, of Jackson passed away at the Jackson Good Samaritan Center in Jackson on Tuesday, February 16, 2010.  Funeral service will be on Friday, 2-19-10, at 2:30 PM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson with Reverend Doctor Martin Lucin officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson.

 Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday.

GENEVIEVE WANDA LUTZ was born on September 3, 1925 in West Heron Lake Township, the daughter of Gustav and Johannah (Stumpf) Seydel.  As a youth, she attended Okabena High School.  She was united in marriage to Eugene Lutz in Lakefield on June 16, 1946.  After marriage, they moved to Jackson.  She had worked as a baker for Julian’s Bakery and a cook at the hospital and had enjoyed being a waitress at the Best Western Motel.  Eugene had passed away in 1971.  She continued to make her home in Jackson before entering the Jackson Good Samaritan Center on April 16, 2004.  She passed away there on February 16, 2010 at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 13 days.

 Genevieve was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson, where she had been active in the circles.  She enjoyed baking chocolate chip cookies and spent many hours crocheting doilies and doing needle work.

 Genevieve is survived by her son, Jim (MaryJo) Lutz of Jackson, Minnesota, her daughter, Judy (Dennis) Arnfelt of Cedar Falls, Iowa, 4 grandchildren, Lindy (Jeremy) Stroham and Tyler, Jada, and Cody, Ryan Arnfelt, Shannon (Kanoa) Baynard with Alexis and Jackson, Betsy (Justin) Storm with Keaton and Kasey, 5 sisters, Emilia Law of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Cora Buckwalter of Mount Carroll, Illinois, Esther (Ray) Busse of Appleton, Minnesota, Virginia (Martin) Kruse of Fairmont, Minnesota and Olive Volk of Windom, Minnesota.

 Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene, 4 brothers, Franklin Seydel, Gus Seydel, Roland Seydel, and Lester Seydel, and a sister, Hulda Schmidt.
