MARVIN DALE KRUSE was born on January 5, 1936 in Lakefield, Minnesota, the son of Emil and Ella (Wagner) Kruse. As a youngster, he had helped at the Kruse Tavern in Okabena. He graduated from Okabena High School in 1955. After graduation, he worked many jobs including being the Constable for Okabena and worked for Scheppman Construction out of Heron Lake as a Ditch Witch mechanic. On ?, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Scharping at ?. They made their home in Okabena. On Saturday, January 3, 2010, he passed away at the Sogge Good Samaritan Home in Windom after a long illness with his family at his side. Marvin was 74 years and 18 days.

Marvin had been a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Okabena. He enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and casino hopping. He refinished many of wood pieces. He would take 2 weeks vacations to Park Rapids, Minnesota and love spending time boating, water skiing, swimming, picnicking and tubing.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn of Okabena, a son, Scott (Nichole) Kruse of Lakefield, a daughter, Peggy Gran of Windom, 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Brittney, Courtney, Nicholas, Natasha, Nathaniel, Narissa, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, Lloyd (Joy) Kruse of Okoboji, Iowa, Ronald (Olive) Kruse of Superior, Wisconsin, and James (Mazie) of Alexandria, Minnesota and a sister, Elinore Groff of Midlothian, Virginia.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law, Verda Kruse, a brother-in-law, James Groff, a niece, Donna Gillick and a nephew, James Schabacker.
