Arthur Wayne Rosenbrook, the son of Harry and Wilma (Heuer) Rosenbrook, was born on October 5, 1931, in Sioux Valley Township. As a youth Art attended Jackson County Country Schools. After his schooling Art began driving truck for Thornburg. During this time Art met his wife to be, Delores Schultz. Art and Delores were united in marriage on April 21, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux Valley Township. After marriage, Art and Delores made their home in Middletown Township, later moving to Wisconsin Township, where they resided ever since. They were blessed with five sons. While driving truck for Thornburg, Art also worked as a hog buyer for John Morrell, and managed to start his own business, Jackson Motor Express. After his father’s death in 1971, Art took over the family farm. On top of his business and farming, Art also worked as a clerk at the Sale barn for over fifty years. Then in the early nineties, Art started working for New Horizon. Art passed away at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at the age of 78 years, two months, and twenty-five days.

Art was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson. Art’s favorite activities involved taking apart and fixing anything, from tractors and cars, to simple household items. Every time Dave and Art spoke on the phone Dave would ask him, “What did you take apart now?” Art was a member of the Jackson Lions, he was a Jaycee and he was also the Wisconsin Township treasurer. He loved to spoil his grandkids, and he really loved spending time with his best bud “Tar”, whom he rescued from the Humane Society in Sioux Falls.

Art is survived by his three sons, Dave (Gail) Rosenbrook of St. Paul, Minnesota, Lon (Betty) Rosenbrook of Jackson and Brent (Carol) Rosenbrook of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a daughter-in-law, Pat Rosenbrook of St. Cloud; nineteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Deloris Strom of Lakefield.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of fifty-six years, Delores; two sons, Steve and Perry Rosenbrook; and a brother, Donald Rosenbrook.

Blessed be the memory of Arthur Wayne Rosenbrook.
