LUANN MARIE HECHT was born on January 11, 1958 in Jackson, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Beatrice (Bradeen) Tusa. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1976 and from Jackson Vocational and Technical College in 1977 with a degree in medical transcription. She was united in marriage to Timothy Hecht on August 5, 1978 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. They then moved to a place just outside Alpha until 1981 when they moved into Jackson. She had worked as a medical transcriptionist for the Fairmont Medical Center since 1978, both in Fairmont and later from her home. LuAnn passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the age of 50 years, 8 months and 21 days.

LuAnn had a member of the Presbyterian Church in Alpha and later the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. She had been the Church organist in Alpha and had played for the Church in Jackson. She loved tagging along with her husband to Conservation banquets in Jackson County and had helped him with the Car Shows in Ashley Park in Jackson. She loved her wild birds that she fed religiously. She loved her flowers and spring and ducks. But her true love was her children and grandchildren.

LuAnn is survived by her husband of 30 years, Timothy Hecht of Jackson, a son, William Hecht and his wife, Sarah of Fairmont, Minnesota, a daughter, Angela and her husband Jesse Blommer of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 2 grandchildren, Carmyne Timothy Hecht and Charlee Marie Blommer, and 2 sisters, Vickie Tusa of Alpha and Laura Tusa of Jackson.

LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Jackson with Reverend Christopher Drew officiating. Burial will be in Miller Hillside Cemetery – Jackson.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, 10-5-08, from 3 to 6 PM at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson and on Monday – one hour prior to the service at the Church.
